The time is 1963. They are undefeated and unscored upon and they accept a challenge from the east coast to play the undefeated Mayfair Athletic Club from Philadelphia. On the way to the game they are scheduled to meet President Kennedy at the White House. However, on November 22nd, 1963 President Kennedy is assassinated. The nation is in in shock however the team agrees to go on with the game and dedicate their effort to the late President. The team is flown to Washington DC where they attend the funeral of President Kennedy. Four days later in Philadelphia they complete their undefeated season and win the National Championship.
