• About J. Michael Merkley

J. Michael Merkley is an American filmmaker, writer, and producer known for his work in science fiction and horror. He developed an early interest in storytelling and visual media while attending Vanguard High School in Ocala, where he became active in theatre and film production. His stage work included William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, the locally produced play Beautiful Insanity, and several other theatrical productions. He later attended the College of Central Florida, continuing his focus on theatre and video production while appearing in short films and student projects. In 2011, he founded Infiniti Films of Central Florida, producing a number of short films before completing his first feature-length project, ///Signal Lost, in 2013. The film launched a science-fiction horror franchise that continued with the sequel Signal Lost: Dark Days in 2016. In 2021, the company re-branded as Infinite Studios, marking a new phase of growth and expanded production. Under the new banner, Signal Lost: Revelations was released in 2024, continuing the franchise’s mythology. In 2025, Infinite Studios released the folk-horror short film The Feast, further establishing its genre identity. He is developing several upcoming projects for 2026, including the prestige sci-fi series Solis and the occult thriller Midnight Redux: A Signal Lost Story.
