• About Jahmil Eady

Jahmil Eady is a writer-director from Charleston, SC, and NYC who blends genre with social impact storytelling. In 2025, Eady completed the American Film Institute's Directing Workshop for Women Plus, where she wrote and directed the magical realism film, Hatchlings. Eady earned her BA in Media Studies from Pomona College and holds an MFA in Directing from UCLA, where she was the Inaugural Graduate Class Artist, representing over 14,000 Bruins. She is also the Princess Grace Foundation's Inaugural Sir Roger Moore Honoree in Filmmaking. Eady began her career in unscripted film and television as an associate producer on documentary projects for the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), Viceland and Discovery Networks. Her award-winning films have screened at film festivals worldwide, and her work has been supported by institutions such as Tribeca & Chanel Through Her Lens, Film Independent, NFMLA NewNarratives, Peace is Loud, and Indeed's Rising Voices Season 5. Her Gullah Geechee folk horror short, HAINT premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
