• About Esperanza Hill

Esperanza "Chuchie" Hill is a Spanish-British film director and writer, born on the island of Mallorca, with a career spanning five continents across advertising, documentary, and fiction. Her work has earned international recognition, including a One Show Entertainment Pencil Award, a Human Interest Award at the Monaco International Film Festival, and nominations at Cannes Lions, the Streamy Awards, and the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival. Her debut short Hola to the World, starring Jena Malone and Hugh Bonneville, launched her directing career, and her feature screenplay was later a finalist at the Sundance Screenwriters Lab. She is the co-founder of In the Sea Productions in California, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the oceans through film, and a sister company in Spain focused on producing heartfelt stories that aim to move and connect people. Chuchie holds degrees in Film Directing and Art & Design.
