• About Mark Allen

Mark Allen was born and raised in Jacksonville, Texas where he started writing stories at age 10. At 18, he joined the U.S. Navy and served 21 years as a Navy Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman (IDC) and FMF Warfare Specialist in countries all over the world. He spent several years learning the fundamentals of screenwriting in his downtime while still on active duty. He retired in May 2001. Mark's first feature film, DELIRIUM (2007), which he wrote and directed, was shot in nine days for $9,000 and landed an international DVD distribution deal. Mark followed up with Producer/Director Kevin DiBacco on EARLY GRAVE (2013), which Mark wrote and co-produced. It enjoyed limited theatrical runs on both coasts, followed by a global DVD release. His final screenwriting credit is RESTITUTION(2024) which premiered worldwide on various premium streaming platforms. In 2014, Mark was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer. All filmmaking activities went on indefinite hold. His sole priority was to beat his cancer. He fought hard and emerged victorious. He is now eleven years cancer-free. Hobbled by complications from Chemotherapy and radiation, he no longer had the stamina for film work. Mark turned to writing novels and published the critically-acclaimed vampire noir novel, NOCTURNAL in 2017. He followed up with the critically-acclaimed award winning (Book Fest Fall 2023) werewolf yarn, BLOOD RED MOON in 2021. In 2023, JUST BEFORE DAWN, a sequel to NOCTURNAL, became an Amazon bestseller. April 2025 saw the release of ALPHA MALE, a sequel to BLOOD RED MOON, and the second installment of Mark's epic werewolf trilogy. Mark lives quietly with his wife in a small town in Northwestern Washington. He writes every day.
