Rafy Sabry is an Egyptian-American actor born in Cairo, Egypt. He is best known for his lead role in I Self (2021) and his co-starring performances in The Cost (2017) and 5150 (2018), with I Self and The Cost both premiering at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Rafy began his career on the Egyptian stage, where he founded the acting group Nazra in 2008 and performed in prominent theaters throughout Cairo and Alexandria. He earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of King Aghnatious in I Want to Die (2009-2010), earning him a Best Actor award. From 2006 to 2011, he gained recognition among younger audiences for his role as Ernie in the Arabic adaptation of Sesame Street, combining live-action and puppetry. In 2012, Rafy immigrated to the United States with his family, settling in Los Angeles, California, where he continues to work in film and television. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Theatre from the High Institute of Art and Theater in Egypt (2010) and a Master's Degree in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles (2018). Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Rafy brings a global and multicultural perspective to his performances. He was raised in an Egyptian Coptic Orthodox family, a heritage that informs much of his artistic and personal journey.
