Renji Philip is a filmmaker and writer whose work focuses on individuals under pressure-ordinary people pushed to emotional, moral, or existential breaking points. He has written and directed short and feature-length films, including The Wake of Light, which received nineteen festival awards, was named among Greg Laemmle’s favorite films, and qualified for Academy Award consideration. His feature Cheesecake Casserole premiered on Netflix. Philip also writes fiction, essays, and criticism. He holds a BBA from the University of Miami, an MFA from Lindenwood University, and studied acting in Los Angeles with Howard Fine and in New York at the Stella Adler Conservatory.
