• About Sean Mick

Sean Mick is a produced, award-winning screenwriter specializing in high concept, character driven genre stories rooted in mythic structure and the timeless struggle for redemption. Raised in Northern California, Sean began as a movie geek studying art and film at Sonoma State University, then honed his craft under some of Hollywood’s top script gurus, including Christopher Vogler, John Truby, and Robert McKee. His influences range from Howard Hawks and Sam Peckinpah to Michael Mann and Christopher Nolan, filmmakers who understand that character is destiny and conflict is truth, and his work is heavily grounded in the mythic principles championed by the late Joseph Campbell. He is deeply committed to the creative community. He teaches screenwriting at Western Nevada College, helping emerging writers discover their own voices; serves as host and moderator for the Carson Classic Cinema Collective; and acts as a judge for the Silver State Storytellers ongoing series of short film competitions. Sean lives in Carson City, Nevada (near beautiful Lake Tahoe) with a pair of very spoiled cats, a lovely wife who laughs at most of his jokes, and two kids who still think he’s cool... depending on the day."
