✅ Good Fit If

Your film is a high-quality international or German feature, documentary, TV series, or selected short with strong narrative drive, emotional impact, artistic excellence, or innovative storytelling.

You are seeking a German or European premiere (highly valued and often required for competition sections at Filmfest Cologne).

You are an international or German filmmaker/producer aiming for strong visibility and distribution opportunities in the German-speaking market.

Your project has broad audience appeal combined with high production values and cinematic quality.

You want excellent industry networking, awards prestige (including the Filmpreis Köln), meetings with German distributors and broadcasters, and solid audience reach.

❌ Not a Good Fit If

Your film has already had a theatrical release or wide public screening in Germany.

The film is extremely experimental, radically avant-garde, or purely formal/artistic without broader narrative or emotional accessibility.

You are looking for a niche, ultra-experimental, or political festival (better suited for Oberhausen or similar).

Your project is very low-budget, unfinished, or lacks premiere status.

Who Might Not Be a Good Fit?

Filmmakers seeking only highly experimental or artist-driven festivals.

Directors of pure mainstream commercial blockbusters or franchise films without artistic ambition.

Those who prefer very small, intimate, or low-pressure boutique events.

Projects without German/European premiere availability or strong market potential in the DACH region.
